Lee Company Adopts Electronic Payments Practices and Improves Bottom Line and Local Community Lee Company, a Nashville-based contractor, had been using the Comdata fleet card to fuel its vehicles for several years. When the company began looking for ways to streamline operations and save money on paper checks issued to their vendors, it again turned to Comdata for our electronic payables solution.

This product is a one-time use MasterCard® account number created to pay a specific invoice to a specific vendor. A company can earn rebates on its spend to improve their bottom line and turn its accounts payable departments into a revenue generator. By using this product, Lee Company not only simplified its AP processes but also cut costs and increased revenue at the same time.

In addition, simply by paying its bills, Lee Company was able to take advantage of an opportunity to support a local nonprofit organization. Through a relationship we have established with the Construction Financial Management Association—an organization aimed at providing educational opportunities to those in the construction industry—member companies using our e-payables product can share their rebates with their local and national CFMA chapters.

Lee Company relied on Comdata’s dedicated Vendor Enrollment team to ensure successful start-up of the e-payables program. Our team launched customized, strategic calling campaigns on behalf of Lee Company to convert nearly forty percent of the company’s vendors to electronic payments.

Because of Lee Company’s successful implementation of the program, the company has saved an estimated $200,000 a year and was able to contribute more than $3,800 to the Middle Tennessee chapter of CFMA last year.
